Valerie’s passion for health and healing began through her own personal journey. A lifelong gymnast and former USAG level 10 competitor, Valerie experienced multiple lumbar disc herniations and early-onset degenerative disc disease. Facing the possibility of surgery at a young age, she turned to Wu Wei Wellness, where holistic therapies such as cupping, acupuncture, and manual therapy helped her find relief and avoid invasive procedures.
Inspired by these experiences, Valerie pursued a career in healthcare. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, concentrating in Emergency Critical Care, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, also with highest honors. She then fulfilled her dream of working in the ICU, where she continues to provide compassionate, critical care.
During her time on the frontlines at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Valerie faced another personal challenge—developing gastroparesis as a complication of the virus. After trialing experimental medications and preparing for surgery, she once again turned to Wu Wei Wellness. Through a personalized, holistic approach, she was able to heal in ways she never thought possible.
Today, Valerie is honored to be part of Wu Wei Wellness and Fusco Care Services, where she combines her medical expertise with her personal passion for holistic healing. She is committed to supporting patients with an integrative approach that brings together the best of Eastern and Western medicine to restore balance, resilience, and long-term health.
